To effectively manage filter saturation in the Emmigreen® DPF, the crew utilizes a predetermined regeneration strategy.
This strategy involves a specific time interval between regenerations, during which the filter elements undergo cleaning.
As the filter becomes saturated, the interval between regenerations is shortened, eventually resulting in a warning on the DPF system display indicating that the backpressure has exceeded a pre-set level.
Based on this information, the crew can anticipate when they will need to clean the ash from the filters.
