To clean the DPF system of a 500 KW engine, the engine must first cool down for at least 5 to 6 hours. Once cooled, accessing the filter elements is a straightforward process of opening the hatch, which should take no more than 15 to 30 minutes.

Operating and maintaining the DPF system is easy with the help of the manual provided with the system, and any crew member can service or replace parts in case of malfunctions. However, in rare cases where the programming is off, assistance from Emigreen® may be required, but such instances are infrequent.
